Who on earth would not like a good earthy warm pudding , that comes straight out of the oven and fills all the rooms of your home and corners of your heart with a brilliant magical aroma of happiness , combined together with whiffs of cinnamon , nutmeg , butter and much of the like . At the moment , it only makes me feel all the more cozy and kind of ' curl up in bed ' with this , watching my favorites movie alongside maybe a warm cup of hot chocolate or perhaps Nigella like - sneaking up tiptoed for my midnight snack , topped with scoops of some favorite ice cream . This bake is true to its form , quite signature home bakers style , rugged , traditional, quick and yet horribly simple ...
Puddings can be both sweet and savory courses , but more often than not denote a sweet dessert ( unless specifically mentioned ) . This one in particular is a classic British dessert made best with stale bread , which when luxuriously soaked in the flavor steeped custard mixture, transforms itself into quite a table centerpiece. For a twist , I steeped my version with layers of crunchy apple - which when combined with cinnamon and nutmeg , made everything even more earthier and fantastic . Remember , this old-fashioned pudding also goes easy on the stomach and on the calories . Also , to make it a little fancy , you can infuse or flambé it with some spiced rum before you serve it out ...Go on , do give it a try & trust me you will love it all the more !
