Tiger Prawns in Sesame sauce

I call this the Hungry boy quick and easy prawn Asian stir-fry . Cooked together with liberal portions of finely chopped ginger , garlic and seasonal veges , the highlight of this dish is in the finish off - which is done with simple pan roasted sesame seeds and a tablespoon full of sesame oil . The stir fry is easy to make and a perfect meal when paired together with a bowl full of egg fried rice or some simple stir fried noodles. Enough said - I cant re-emphasize more on how insanely well Prawns and Asian flavors go together with another ..


Just looking at this list of ingredients, you will know how incredibly tasty this will be so , if you are looking for something simple but incredible flavor packed then blindly go along ...assemble the below ingredients and just cook along ...


Things you will need :

  • 500 gms of de-veined prawns

  • 01 tbsp. of finely chopped ginger

  • 01 tbsp. of finely chopped garlic

  • 02 whole onion - cut into quarters and separated

  • 01 broccoli , separated into florets

  • 01/2 zucchini chopped into match sticks

  • 02 tbsp. dark soy sauce

  • 02 tbsp. dark chilli sauce

  • 03 tbsp. sesame oil

  • 01 tbsp. sesame seeds , lightly pan roasted

  • Salt , to taste

  • 01 & 1/ 2 tsp of hand pounded pepper powder

  • 03 tbsp. vegetable oil , to sauté

Steps to follow

  • Wash the prawns well and drain out any extra water - marinate them in a bowl with a pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper and keep aside.

  • In a stir fry pan , heat some vegetable oil . Once heated - add in the chopped garlic and ginger & sauté for a second .

  • To the pan , add in the onion florets , broccoli and marinated prawns and sauté for another 5 - 8 minutes until the prawns have rendered their fat .

  • Next , add in all the sauces and toss everything together

  • Add in the Zucchini sticks and simmer the gravy for 2-3 minutes until soft .

  • Before you serve , top with a tablespoon full of sesame oil and roasted sesame seeds and enjoy hot .
