A finger-licking Cabbage entrée !

All this COVID 19 mayhem and this never ending isolation period , seems to be making all of us clock enormous amounts of air time , more then we would ever do in any given normal office work day . The meetings seem to be an incessant feature throughout the day and individual personal time seemingly , indispensable . While on one hand i am happy that work is still happening amidst this super challenging business environment , the recent Bangalore lock down , added more to my work woes , with additional house work piling up the work quotient . In parallel , i committed myself to the Hungry boy week-o-mania Cabbage series and no matter what , I refuse to deter my self from my commitment .


While i wanted to do a nice cabbage salad today - my busy schedule for today simply refused to allow me to do any cutting / chopping and hence , i am taking some liberty and a change of plan. With 3 brilliant cooks up my sleeve , today it' s time for some finger licking finger food . This healthy finger food , is cabbage-y goodness and a great option while entertaining large guests .Take on look on how to spin this together !

Things you will need ( Makes 4 adult portions )

  • 02 chicken breasts - finely minced

  • 01 tbsp fish sauce

  • 02 tbsp soy

  • 2 teaspoons roasted chili paste

  • Handful of thinly sliced green onions

  • 01 full onion - finely chopped

  • 01 tbsp ginger - finely chopped

  • 01 tbsp garlic - finely chopped

  • 01 full bell pepper - finely chopped

  • 1/2 cabbage - finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh coriander leaves

  • 4 small heads of Chinese cabbage - separated into leaves

Steps to follow

  • Heat oil in a skillet and add in the ginger , garlic , onion and saute

  • Add green onions , cabbage and bell pepper and stir until vegetables are tender

  • Add in the minced chicken , fish sauce , chilli paste , soy , coriander leaves and season with salt and pepper - Remove from heat.

  • Serve in Chinese cabbage cup !
